Marie Lyn Bernard (or "Riese") is a freelance journalist, award-winning writer, blogger, fictionist, copywriter, video-maker and aspiring cyber-performance artist who grew up in Michigan, got wise in New York City, escaped to San Francisco and then came back to Michigan to be a grown-up.

She is the editor-in-chief, co-founder and CEO of Autostraddle.com, the world's most popular independently owned lesbian website, and the founder of A-Camp, an annual retreat for queer women in Southern California. Her personal blog, Autowin, has received numerous honors.

Her work has appeared in eight books including The Bigger the Better, The Tighter The Sweater: 21 Funny Women on Beauty, Body Image, and the Other Hazards of Being Female, magazines including Marie Claire, GO!, Interlude, NeXt, CollegeBound and Curve, and all over the web including Jezebel, Nerve.com, Emily Books, OurChart and Suspect Thoughts.

In addition to editing "In Your Box Office" for Autostraddle.com, Riese has edited videos for clients including Wingspan Pictures and BroadwayWorld.com and was the host of Showtime's record-breaking webseries "Lezberado."

A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, The University of Michigan and The Olive Garden's week-long training intensive; she enjoys eating foods, having big ideas, reading books & talking to her stuffed dog, Tinkerbell.
